Match aid was formed in the idea of raising money for the research into cancer. Cancer has no boundaries it does not take into account of race, age, religion, wealth or gender. What ever we can do, whether its small or large can make a difference, we all know someone who has been effected by cancer in one way or another,
Match Aid is a great new event that can bring the fishing community together and have a fantastic family day and raise some money for a really worth while cause. There will be something for everyone from little Johnny Jones on his first fishing adventure to Grandpa Ed whos forgotten more about fishing than some of us will ever know and even the odd surprise or two thrown in for good measure.
Fisheries are now coming together to help organize Match Aid and make it the great event I know it will be.
Match Aid is a newly formed charity event which we decided to create after losing two people very close to us through cancer, we have been overwelmed by the interest and support we have received and are still receiving, we are very much aware that this is going to be an immense task we are taking on but we feel this cause is worth it, and as stated along with all the support we will make this event a yearly success.
We are doing matchaid along side our own day to day jobs, we spend every bit of spare time putting this event together.
Having been a keen angler for many years also gave me plenty of scope to come up with the idea and confidence to bring Matchaid together.
